Friday, November 09, 2012 - Selby General Hospital and Wendy’s Restaurants Clean the Air With The Great American Smokeout
Selby General Hospital and Wendy's restaurants will be giving coupons for free food during the Great American Smokeout on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012. The Belpre Wendy’s and the Marietta Pike Street Wendy’s are offering a coupon for a FREE combo meal, a value of $6, for anyone turning in their cigarettes or smokeless tobacco (snuff, dip or spit) from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The Belpre Elementary Right Choice Club will also be at the Belpre Wendy’s location with signs encouraging participants to stop using tobacco products.

This event is part of the Great American Smokeout, the American Cancer Society’s program to generate awareness about the importance of being tobacco free. About 44 percent of the 45.3 million Americans who smoke have attempted to quit for at least one day in the past year, and the Great American Smokeout remains a great opportunity to encourage people to commit to making a long-term plan to quit for good.

For more information on quitting resources call Stephanie Davis, Washington County Tobacco Prevention Project, at (740) 374-2229.
