Wednesday, September 15, 2010 - Marietta Memorial Hospital To Hold “Festival of FUNction”
In honor of National Rehabilitation Awareness Week, Marietta Memorial Hospital will be holding a “Festival of FUNction” on September 20 – 24 in the South Pavilion Conference Room at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

The purpose of the event is to provide fun activities for the community and increase awareness of the rehabilitation services available at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

Monday, September 20 (5-7 p.m. in the South Pavilion Conference Room)

  • Driver safety with Rick Headley and local law enforcement 
     

Tuesday, September 21 (5-7 p.m. in the South Pavilion Conference Room)

  • Rehabilitative nursing
    1. Vitals
    2. Weight
    3. Height

Wednesday, September 22 (5-7 p.m. in the South Pavilion Conference Room)

  • Stroke awareness education
  • Admission process
  • “Meet & greet” with Dr. Lisa Barrett, physical medicine & rehabilitation
  • Patient advisory board

Thursday, September 23 (5-7 p.m. in the South Pavilion Conference Room)

  • Therapy night
    1. Physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, recreational therapy and counseling services.
  • Mature Driver Safety Course
    1. Marietta Memorial Hospital in partnership with The Driver Rehabilitation Program at MMH and The Ohio State Patrol will hold a mature driving safety course for seniors on Thursday, September 23 from 1 – 4 p.m. in the Strecker Cancer Center Conference Room at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
    2. The event is free, open to the public and is strongly recommended for seniors who feel they need to refresh their driving skills. Seniors must be 50 years of age or older in order to participate. Light snacks will be provided. To register contact Angi Johnson at (740) 568-5232.

Friday, September 24 (2-4 p.m. in the Inpatient Rehab Unit)

  • Open house for hospital employees

“Festival of FUNction” is free, open to the public and will feature door prizes each night. Refreshments will be available. For more information contact Wendy Shriver at (740) 374-1634.
