Marietta Memorial Hospital Earns Continuing Medical Education Accreditation with Commendation
Marietta Memorial Hospital???s continuing medical education (CME) program has been surveyed by the Ohio State Medical Association Focused (OSMA) Task Force on Accreditation and as a result, has been awarded Accreditation with Commendation for six years as a provider of continuing medical education for physicians.
OSMA accreditation seeks to assure the medical community and the public that Marietta Memorial Hospital provides physicians with relevant, effective, practice-based continuing medical education that supports US health care quality improvement.
"As chairman of the CME committee, I would like to thank the hospital administration, the CME committee members and the medical staff for their support. We are proud to have received the maximum number of years of accreditation with commendation. Our CME Specialist, Amber Small, worked tirelessly on this accreditation to demonstrate to the OSMA that we provide excellent CME opportunities for our medical staff,??? said John Grosel, MD.
CME providers certify educational activities for category one credits of the American Medical Association Physician???s Recognition Award (AMA PRA). The AMA PRA is used by state licensing boards and boards of medical specialties to re-license physicians and re-certify them in the areas of specialty. Memorial Health System???s CME program is managed by Amber Small, MA.
