“Selby General Hospital and Wendy’s Restaurants Clean the Air with the Great American Smokeout”
(November 12, 2015, Marietta, Ohio) –
Selby General Hospital, the Healthy Community Coalition of Wood County and local Wendy's restaurants will be giving coupons for free food during the Great American Smokeout on Thursday, November 19. The Parkersburg Wendy’s (1603 7th St.), the Mineral Wells Wendy’s and the Marietta Pike Street Wendy’s are offering a coupon for a FREE combo meal, a value of $6, for anyone turning in their cigarettes or smokeless tobacco from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
This event is part of the Great American Smokeout, the American Cancer Society’s program to generate awareness about the importance of being tobacco free. About 44 percent of the 45.3 million Americans who smoke have attempted to quit for at least one day in the past year, and the Great American Smokeout remains a great opportunity to encourage people to commit to making a long-term plan to quit for good.
For more information on quitting resources call Stephanie Davis, Washington County Tobacco Prevention Project, at (740) 374-2229 in Ohio or (304) 485-7374 in West Virginia. Funding provided by the Ohio Department of Health Washington County Tobacco Prevention Project and Healthy Community Coalition of Wood County.
