Periodically varying your workout routine will help you defeat plateaus, correct strength imbalances and avoid overuse injuries, according to the American Council on Exercise. If you regularly participate in spinning classes, instead try doing lap swimming or yoga. If you do kickboxing, try aquatic exercise to reduce the impact on your joints.
