November 5, 2010 - Marietta Memorial Hospital Announces Belpre Expansion
This time next year Marietta Memorial Hospital and the Memorial Health System will have a larger presence in the Belpre community. Reinforcing its commitment to providing convenient healthcare services, hospital officials announced today plans to open a new medical building as an extension to the current Health Bridge campus.
Located at 809 Farson Street, the two-story, 50,000 square foot building, is estimated to cost about $12 million. Construction will begin in November and the building is slated to open in November, 2011.
Scott Cantley, Memorial Health System president and CEO, says the new medical building is part of the health system’s overall strategy to expand care close to home.
"We are thrilled to be working closely with the Belpre community to create a plan that will result in the development of additional local healthcare services. We are committed to strengthening healthcare by providing residents with expanded services that meets their needs.”
The new building will feature primary care physician offices, Strecker Cancer Center offices, and medical support services such as imaging. HealthBridge plans to expand health related services in the existing building over time. The plan includes additional green space and beautification around the current site.
The hospital is planning a groundbreaking ceremony on site November 17 at 3:30 p.m.
The Memorial Health System encompasses two hospitals, a nursing home, occupational health program, a retirement community, physician group and Foundation; all working to ensure local access to healthcare for you and your family.
