January 31, 2011 - MMHís Go Red For Women Heart Luncheon to be Held February 22
Marietta Memorial Hospital will once again be sponsoring the annual Go Red For Women Heart Luncheon on Tuesday, February 22, 11:30 a.m. Ė 1 p.m. The cost of the luncheon is $12, which includes lunch catered by Austynís Restaurant and valuable heart health information and resources for women. Registration is required.
According to the American Heart Association, heart disease is the number one killer of women in the United States. More women die of cardiovascular disease than the next five causes of death combined, including cancer.
Speakers for this yearís Go Red For Women event include Marietta Memorialís Joseph Mayo, M.D., Ph.D., interventional cardiologist, discussing the growth of our cardiology services and introducing our new interventional cardiology physicians. Shane Parmer, M.D., vascular surgeon, will discuss the risks of vascular disease and its relation to heart disease, as well as the Vastrac screening program at MMH. One of our very own will share her experience on the other side of the conversation, as the office manager of our cardiology team to cardiology patient. Terri Ann Zide, owner of Terri Annís in historic downtown Marietta, will help us face heart disease head on.
