April 14, 2011 - MMH Blood Donor Spotlight: A First Time Donor’s Story
Jazmine Davis, a senior at Marietta High School, recently became a silent hero during a blood drive held at her school on Wednesday, April 6, 2011. Davis, a first time blood donor with Marietta Memorial Hospital’s Blood Mobile, was among 40 high school donors that came out to donate blood.
“I decided to donate because my friends were encouraging me to donate,” says Davis. Davis said she donated because there are others in need. “The most painful part of the process was the finger pricking,” says Davis.
Marietta Memorial Hospital’s Blood Mobile is scheduled to be at various locations throughout the community to take blood donations. A complete schedule of Blood Mobile locations can be found on the Marietta Memorial Hospital’s website at www.mmhospital.org. A blood level indicator can be found on the homepage to check our current supply.
If you would like to become a silent hero and donate blood or want more information on blood donations, contact MMH’s Blood Bank at (740) 374-1432.
