May 13, 2011 - Marietta Memorial Hospital Employee Receives Prestigious Certification

Mandy Riess, shift coordinator and registered nurse at Marietta Memorial Hospital, recently earned the credential of Progressive Care Certified Nursing (PCCN) after successfully completing the rigorous national exam, developed and administered by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN.) The PCCN certification validates the knowledge of the nurse caring for acutely ill adult patients. Riess has been employed as an RN by MMH since 2001 and is the first registered nurse on the post intensive care unit (PICU) to obtain her PCCN certification. Riess graduated in 2001 from Washington State Community College with her Associateís Degree in Nursing and later in 2006 from WVU with her Bachelorís of Science in Nursing.
