Marietta Memorial Hospital’s Vascular Laboratory at the Belpre, OH medical campus has achieved accreditation in vascular testing by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) after undergoing a thorough review of its operational and technical operations by a panel of experts. This accreditation recognizes the health system’s delivery of quality care and testing to vascular patients. Marietta Memorial’s vascular lab was accredited last year. The two labs are the only labs in the immediate area to achieve these accreditations.
IAC grants accreditation only to those facilities that are found to be providing quality patient care in compliance with national standards through a comprehensive application process and detailed case study review.
“We are pleased to achieve the IAC accreditation, which reflects the hard work and skill of our physician, Dr. Shane Parmer; our technologists and staff to assure the people in our community who face vascular conditions receive the best care,” says Memorial Health System president and CEO Scott Cantley.
“IAC accreditation is a mark of excellence that patients and medical staff can rely on as an indication that the facility has been carefully critiqued on all aspects of its operations considered relevant by medical experts in the field of vascular testing.”
The IAC accreditation is considered the “gold standard” for vascular laboratories. In order to achieve the accreditation, hospitals must meet or exceeded IAC standards for testing, based on a rigorous assessment and review process of patient care and daily lab operations.
