Marietta Memorial Health Foundation recently named Laurene Huffman tos the position of Planned Giving Specialist for the Marietta Memorial Health Foundation. Huffman will be focusing on philanthropic opportunities and education for area residents and estate planning professionals.
The Foundation creates opportunities for area business, residents and organizations to provide charitable support for Marietta Memorial Hospital, Harmar Place and Glenwood Retirement Community. Gifts are used for patient services, improving facilities and equipment and charity care.
“Laurene’s desire to do meaningful work with a local charitable organization plus her strong background in learning and communication make her the perfect person to educate others about the benefits of health care charitable giving and Marietta Memorial Hospital,” said Jacky Miner, Director of the Marietta Memorial Health Foundation.
Huffman is a lifelong resident of the area and knows the community well.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to speak with people outside of Marietta as well as those here,” said Huffman. “Our expanded community can do so much to help the hospital, and the hospital is here to serve them.”
Huffman is a graduate of Marietta College and most recently held the position of Marketing Specialist for the Center for Business and Technology at Washington State Community College. She and her husband Doug reside in Waterford with their four children, Belle, Abby, Sydney and Jude.
