The Ohio Hospital Association announced on Monday that Ryan Neville, Director of the Rehabilitation Center at Marietta Memorial Hospital, has been named as the recipient of the Albert E. Dyckes Health Care Worker of the Year Award. He was one of 86 nominees across the state of Ohio.
Every Ohio hospital was invited to nominate one person for this prestigious award, created in 1996 to honor a hospital employee who demonstrates leadership, reflects the values and ideals of Ohio’s health care facilities, goes above and beyond the call of duty, gives back to the community and has overcome odds to succeed.
Neville is a 10-year veteran of Marietta Memorial Hospital and is the Director of the Rehabilitation Center. He reflects the values and ideals of Ohio’s health care facilities in many ways. It’s seen in his vision to provide the newest and most effective treatment options to his patients by advocating for accreditations and new services. He works with community organizations to build programs that care for and strengthen those with disabilities. Neville continually extends himself to caring for patients at all hours of the day, both in the hospital and where they live and work.
“Ryan’s work both at Marietta Memorial Hospital and within our community is truly his passion,” said Kevin Malcomb, Administrative Director of Clinical Services at MMH. “In his daily work he is committed to optimal patient outcomes, providing the highest level of treatment options and an environment that fosters appreciation for each other. He is committed to service and making the lives of his patients the best they can be.”
Neville is known for his energy, creativity and forward thinking. He ignited the hospital with a vision that led to its status as the second hospital in the state to be stroke accredited. He has been instrumental in developing several new services to benefit patients including a driver’s rehab program and Alive at 25 program for young drivers. He recently became trained as a CARF surveyor for other rehabilitation centers, to help other facilities through the processes he’s learned from over the past few years.
Neville has skillfully mastered the demands of being a department manager while carrying a patient load. He has developed a positive working relationship with physicians and is well respected by his staff.
