March 8, 2007 - Harmar Place Receives Above Average Satisfaction Score

Harmar Place Rehabilitation and Extended Care Center has been recognized for achieving a family satisfaction survey score of 90.2%, which is over the statewide average of 86.6%. The score earned them a quality add-on point under Ohio’s Medicaid reimbursement system.

The survey asked family members of nursing home residents about their satisfaction with a number of factors at that facility. Results show that family members rate more than a third of Ohio's homes as above average. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services awards facilities with above average scores an additional "quality point" in a reimbursement formula that rewards quality.

”Harmar Place is honored to be recognized with this prestigious achievement,” said Denise Thacker, Director of Admissions and Marketing. “We have a group of special employees at Harmar Place and I believe this award reflects their dedication to our residents.”

Ohio is one of only a few states that conduct surveys of family satisfaction, and rewards facilities for demonstrated quality based on those surveys.
