Thursday, May 24, 2012 - Harmar Place to receive a 2012 Bronze AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award
Based on a careful review by examiners, Harmar Place’s facility was recommended for a Bronze – Commitment to Quality award this year. After review of a survey compliance status it was confirmed that the hospital will receive a 2012 Bronze AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award.

“We are proud of this recognition,” says Sue Boulton, Harmar Place Administrator, “our staff work hard every day to provide top level care to our residents.”

The 2012 AHCA/NCAL National Quality Awards will be presented at the Closing General Session of AHCA/NCAL’s 63rd Annual Convention and Expo in Tampa, FL on October 10, 2012 from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. AHCA/NCAL will also host a Quality Award Recipient Reception on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 from 5:00-6:00 p.m.

“Each one of the award recipients has proven its dedication to improving lives through quality care, and it is a privilege to honor them with this year’s award,” said Governor Mark Parkinson, President and CEO of AHCA/NCAL. “We congratulate Harmar Place on this achievement.”

AHCA/NCAL has also launched an all new Quality Initiative focused on four specific goal areas; reducing rehospitalization, reducing the use of anti-psychotics, reducing staff turnover and increasing customer satisfaction. Implemented by AHCA/NCAL in 1996, the National Quality Award Program is centered on the core values and criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program. The program assists providers of long term and post-acute care services in achieving their performance excellence goals.

“The commitment these facilities have made to quality care does not stop with this benchmark award,” says Chick Stepahin, Chair, AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Board of Overseers. “The journey to quality care requires dedication, and Harmar Place has risen to the challenge.”
