Joint Replacement for Knees and Hips
You are unique and your care should be, too. That’s why we’ve designed Signature care for Orthopedics at Selby General Hospital. From our dedicated facilities, specialized therapy program, to our dedicated staff, everything is coordinated to make your joint replacement experience the best it can be.

One of the most unique and appreciated services offered by our Joint Replacement program is our Care Navigator, Sandy Purdy. Sandy is an experienced nurse you helps you know what to expect. She will be with you from the beginning to end. She’ll coordinate your education, prepare you for surgery and assist in scheduling appointments and communication. Her service is free, and her goal is to make sure you are completely prepared.

Your treatment plan is prepared with one goal in mind: restoring optimal joint function and reducing or eliminating pain so you can resume daily activities as quickly and safely as possible.

Individualized Therapy Care
Each patient receives a thorough initial evaluation by our physical and occupational therapists on the day after surgery. Our therapy team carefully considers the needs, lifestyle and comfort level of each patient as they determine the best course of rehabilitative therapy. Post-operative rehabilitation occurs on a one-to-one basis at your bedside and includes gait, transfer and balance training as well as a thorough review of available adaptive equipment.

A Comfortable Environment
The inpatient unit is part of a complete medical, diagnostic and surgical program, with many amenities to enhance patient comfort and facilitate healing. The unit was designed based on research that links recovery with the patient’s physical environment. The newer operating rooms bring together the space needed to accommodate the technology and an environment that provides the best possible outcome for patients. Patient rooms are designed to manage patient recovery from surgery and their therapy needs all in one location.
