  • Stop by Volunteer Services or call 740-374-1778 to request an application to be sent to your home.
  • The Director of Volunteer Services will contact you to set up an interview.
  • You will be assigned to a service according to interest, skills and experience. The responsibility of volunteer placement rests with the Director of Volunteer Services.
  • You will be asked to attend a hospital orientation to become familiar with hospital procedures.
When you become a volunteer, you assume the responsibility of being on the job when scheduled. If you are unable to keep an assignment, you should call ahead of time to give the director time to get a substitute.

After a trial period, the volunteer or the Volunteer Services department may request reassignment if either party wishes. Complaints, criticisms, problems, questions or suggestions should be discussed with the Director of Volunteer Services. Always check with Volunteer Services on matters involving the Volunteer department policy.

Job descriptions are provided upon request for each volunteer assignment to help you understand your duties.

If you choose to become a volunteer, you will become part of a valuable, well-respected team of individuals who perform a wide variety of services to Memorial Health System.
