We Make it Convenient for You
The Memorial Health System is committed to providing convenient access to our Signature Care for Lung Health services. This means providing care in locations at both Marietta and Belpre, as well as offering a wide selection of services like smoking cessation that reduces the risk for lung cancer; local access to a low-cost lung screening and pulling together a team to work on your behalf.
Here's How We Work
Once you or your physician have identified you as a candidate for Signature Care, you'll be introduced to your own personal care navigator, someone who is specially trained to guide you through this experience from beginning to end. They will provide you with rapid scheduling of appointments, tests and procedures, educational disease information and assistance in understanding your care options and next steps. Their service is free and is designed to help you through diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
We have a uniquely qualified team to diagnose and treat lung cancer. We'll connect you to the right care, with the right experts, right away. Our coordinated approach to care can be yours.
A Wide Range of Services, Right Here
Because effective treatment of lung cancer requires an early diagnosis, we offer a lung cancer screening program for those meeting criteria. The earlier cancer is detected, the more opportunity there is for a better outcome. To help detect cancer early, we're proud to bring you the latest technology. Our advanced technology is only offered in about half of U.S. hospitals.
Our Lung Health Care Navigator, Tiffany English, will guide you through the maze of education, screening, testing and diagnosis. She helps patients find the resources they need, with a personal touch and provides an essential link within our hospital services.
When treatment is needed, our patient centered approach uses a multidisciplinary team of professionals from pulmonary, radiology, surgery, pathology, oncology and primary care to provide the highest quality of care.
Our services include:
Low Dose Computerized Tomography (LDCT):
Similar to a conventional CT scan, but uses much less radiation and is proven to detect early lung cancer.
Electromagnetic Navigation Bronchoscopy (ENB):
GPS-like technology for lungs that allows tissue sampling of very small masses earlier and more safely than other methods. It is also used for placement of metal markers in patients who will be undergoing stereotactic radiotherapy to treat lung tumors.
Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS):
A minimally invasive type of ultrasound (high frequency sound waves) that provides real-time imaging of the surface of the airways, blood vessels, lungs and lymph nodes. This technology allows physicians to easily view difficult to reach areas and access more lymph nodes for biopsy.
The daVinci Surgical System:
A sophisticated robotic platform that offers a state-of-the-art minimally invasive option for major surgery, leading to faster recovery.
Lung Health Care Navigator
You’ll have the support of your own lung health care navigator and a registered respiratory therapist, who will provide personalized support and education throughout your experience.
Lung Cancer Alliance Recognition:
Marietta Memorial's Lung Cancer Screening program has been recognized by the Lung Cancer Alliance for excellence in lung cancer screening and continuum of care.
