Meet Our People
Our people are the heart of this program. From our program director, our faculty, and current residents, we look forward to venturing forward on this journey together.
Daniel Jarrell, DO, FACEP
Program Director
Welcome, and thank you for your interest in the Emergency Medicine Residency at Memorial Health System.
As someone who grew up in this region and trained in both rural and urban emergency departments, I understand how critical it is to prepare physicians who can act with clarity, compassion, and clinical skill—no matter what walks through the door. Since joining Memorial in 2010, I’ve had the privilege of watching this residency grow from an idea into a dynamic program driven by collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to excellence.
Our goal is simple but powerful: to train board-certified emergency providers who are confident, competent, and equipped to make a real impact—whether they choose to stay in our community or practice anywhere in the country. That means exposing our residents to a high volume of diverse pathology, cultivating procedural mastery, and creating a supportive learning environment where questions are welcomed, mentorship is constant, and personal growth is prioritized.
Emergency medicine is a calling that demands not just medical knowledge, but adaptability, composure, and empathy. As Program Director, I’m committed to ensuring each of our residents leaves with all three—and the belief that they can thrive in any setting.
We’re excited to meet the next generation of leaders in emergency medicine. I hope you’ll consider becoming part of our story.
