Our Program
Our three-year Emergency Medicine Residency program prepares providers to lead in high-pressure situations from day one. Established nearly a decade ago, the program continues to evolve through the passion and excellence of our residents, some of whom now serve as faculty or staff within our system.
Residents train across three diverse clinical sites, gaining exposure to a broad range of emergency scenarios in both rural and regional settings. From orientation, you’ll earn core certifications—including BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS—and immediately begin managing critically ill patients with confidence.
With an innovative curriculum, personalized mentorship, and structured support from our Teaching Resident model, our program builds strong, agile clinicians ready to thrive in any emergency department.
Mission
We recognize the vital role of emergency medicine and the need for skilled, compassionate emergency providers in our region. Our Emergency Medicine Residency Program was established with the primary goal of training clinicians who are committed to excellence, continuous learning, and providing timely, life-saving care to the people of southeast Ohio and the Mid-Ohio Valley.
Our community commitment
Memorial Health System is a not-for-profit health system governed by a volunteer board of community members, all dedicated to improving the health of our region. With three hospitals and multiple outpatient care sites, we provide full-spectrum services to meet the urgent and ongoing needs of our community. Our Emergency Medicine team works collaboratively across departments and facilities to address complex challenges and ensure rapid, high-quality care when it matters most.
