Letter From the CEO: Caring For Our Community, Season After Season

Memorial Health System CEO Scott Cantley shares how teamwork, preventive care, and healthy habits guide our community through every season of life.

Fall 2025

Dear friends,

Life in our community is anything but slowing down. In our last issue of Community HealthLine, we explored how to safely increase physical activity for the summer months. Now, with school well underway and sports and recreation in full swing, I’m proud to highlight the outstanding teamwork happening within our health system. On page 12, you’ll read how four of our departments—sports medicine, ortho, athletic training, and therapy services—are working together to make care more streamlined, accessible, and effective for our patients.

With the holiday season on the horizon, many of us are looking forward to gatherings with family and friends. In this issue, we’ve included practical holiday eating guides tailored for conditions such as GERD, diabetes, and celiac disease. Whether you’re preparing your own meal or joining someone else’s table, these tips can help you enjoy the season while supporting your health.

Earlier this fall, we also recognized one of the most important healthcare observances of the year—Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In our Health Review, oncology provider Angela Ball, NP, shares valuable insights on understanding your breast cancer risk, including what it means to be considered “high risk.” I encourage you to take a moment to read her article—you may find information that can make a real difference for yourself or a loved one.

This season reminds us that health is an ongoing journey, and I’m grateful to share that journey with all of you.

Best Regards,

Scott Cantley
