Heather Straight, DO, and Sean Davis Launch Pleasants County Fundraising Challenge
Longtime Pleasants County residents Heather Straight, DO, and Sean Davis, in partnership with Memorial Health Foundation, are proud to launch a fundraising challenge to the residents and businesses in Pleasants County.
They’re inviting their friends and neighbors to join them in a Promise—a shared commitment to strengthen and enhance healthcare for their hometown. This local effort is part of the larger Promise Campaign, which is dedicated to building a new, modern hospital in Sistersville, West Virginia, as well as expanding ambulatory clinics in St. Marys, Sistersville, and Middlebourne.
Understanding the stark healthcare disparities within Pleasants County, Memorial Health Foundation has expanded the Promise Campaign to include funds for two new patient-centered initiatives: the Pleasants County Breast Health Initiative, which helps provide essential breast health screenings to those in need, and the Pleasants County Transportation Initiative, which assists patients without reliable transportation in getting to and from vital appointments.
Believing that there is power in giving, Dr. Straight and Sean have committed to personally match every dollar donated to the Promise Campaign—up to $100,000—to help enhance healthcare access in Pleasants County.
“I have devoted my entire career to returning home and serving this population,” shares Dr. Straight. “This region holds my heart, and I am honored to partner with Memorial Health Foundation to ensure that Memorial Health System continues to serve Pleasants County and the surrounding region with excellent care and state-of-the-art resources through Sistersville General Hospital and the St. Marys Primary Care Clinic.”
First announced during the official groundbreaking of the new Sistersville General Hospital on May 29, 2025, the Promise Campaign aims to raise $12 million in total to ensure advanced care and long-term sustainability for the new hospital and Memorial Health System’s clinics throughout Tyler County and Pleasants County. To date, $10.3 million has already been invested by the State of West Virginia, Tyler County Commission, City of Sistersville, the Towns of Middlebourne and Friendly, and through private philanthropy—leaving a little under $2 million left to raise.
Be part of the Promise. Join Dr. Straight, Sean Davis, and Memorial Health Foundation in expanding healthcare access, providing vital services, and improving the lives of those who call Pleasants County home. Visit PromiseMHF.org to learn more and make a gift.
