Memorial Health Foundation Receives $25K Promise Campaign Donation from Union Bank

Friday, July 18th, 2025

Memorial Health Foundation is honored to announce a generous $25,000 gift from Union Bank to the Promise Campaign in support of the upcoming Sistersville General Hospital. Through this significant contribution, Union Bank is helping ensure that Sistersville and surrounding communities have the healthcare resources they need to thrive—now and in the future.

“As a community bank headquartered in Tyler County, we recognize the importance of access to healthcare in rural areas,” shares Union Bank President and CEO, Tim Aiken. “Sistersville General Hospital has faithfully served Tyler County and the surrounding area for many years, and I have witnessed firsthand the importance of this little hospital and the dedication of its healthcare providers.”

Publicly launched at the official Sistersville General Hospital groundbreaking event on May 28th, the Promise Campaign aims to raise $12 million in total to ensure advanced care and long-term sustainability for the new hospital and Memorial Health System’s clinics throughout Tyler and Pleasants Counties. To date, $9.7 million has already been invested by the State of West Virginia, Tyler County Commission, City of Sistersville, and the Towns of Middlebourne and Friendly, along with an additional $529,355 in private philanthropy—leaving just $1.8 million left to raise.

“We are deeply grateful to Union Bank for their generous contribution to the Promise Campaign for the new Sistersville General Hospital,” says Memorial Health Foundation Senior Philanthropy Officer Susie Warman. “Support from local businesses like Union Bank does more than help build a facility—it represents a meaningful investment in the health and well-being of the entire community, including their own employees and customers.”

The new Sistersville General Hospital will bring modern care closer to home and expand access to essential services in the area. To do this, the facility will include dedicated space for rotating specialists in top-tier service lines, procedure space to support advanced services, community space for meetings, events, and education programs, and dedicated lab and diagnostics for faster, more accurate results—all in one place.
