Hunger Solutions of The Mid-Ohio Valley Celebrates Most Successful Year Yet by Raising $88,003.56 at Annual Bounty by the River

Saturday, August 24th, 2024

Memorial Health System and Peoples Bank have been proud supporters of Hunger Solutions of The Mid-Ohio Valley since 2012. Supporting the region is something the health system takes to heart—whether it be through providing health care services or aiding in the fight against food insecurity throughout the region. Similarly, one of Peoples Bank’s top community priorities is supporting local food banks and pantries.

Hunger Solutions’ Bounty by the River’s 12th annual benefit was hosted at the health system’s Belpre Medical Campus on Saturday; August 24, 2024. In the past, the benefit’s most successful year raised a total of $55,000. This year, the event succeeded with a new personal best with a notable $88,003.56. All of the proceeds raised from Bounty by the River stay in the region and are 100% used to ease food insecurity or provide nutritional education for children.

DeeAnn Gehlauf, President of Hunger Solution of the Mid-Ohio Valley and Memorial Health System Vice President of Business and Organization Development, states: “Our sponsors were amazing this year by providing more support than we have ever had. It could not have come at a better time as we hear more and more that the need for food support continues to grow in our region.”

Bounty by the River is historically known as a lively event filled with gourmet food, music, unique auctions, and delicious desserts. DeeAnn praises those who dedicated their time and effort to the event by saying, “The event is so special because of the number of people that donate their time and talents. Whether it’s making an amazing dessert for auctions, greeting attendees, or cooking and serving a fabulous dinner—we could not do it without those volunteers.”
