As a medical oncologist, Dr. Shinn has been educated and trained in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. Oncologists work in collaboration with other providers, such as radiation therapists, surgical oncologists, hematologists, and even primary care providers, in order to provide a holistic approach in all aspects of care.
Dr. Shinn’s Education & Experience
Dr. Shinn received his medical degree from Marshall University’s Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia. He then attended Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, for his internal medicine and medical oncology fellowship. Dr. Shinn is currently a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine, subspecialty Medical Oncology.
