I was referred to this provider by my PCP. After signing in with the Reg Clerk, the nurse took me back and reviewed the details on my referral which were accurate. Once I got back into the office with the doctor, he asked me why I was there and I told him (the same reasons listed on my referral that the nurse could see, so I would assume the provider would have access to as well). He then proceeds to tell me he no longer diagnoses and treats one of the reasons why I am there and “if you’re going to see someone for things A & B, then you might as well see the same person for thing C as well”. After waiting 2 months to get into his office and being told within the first 3 minutes that there is no reason for me to be there, needless to say I left the office in tears without tying any loose ends. I called my PCP who seemed genuinely confused that this provider “no longer diagnoses and treats” thing C “and hasn’t for many years”. That was a week ago and I still haven’t heard back from my PCP for a different referral.
