It is callous and improper for money matters to be an upfront concern for MMHS and then not attended to in a timely manner as information prepared for the patient-customer. It simply cannot be that explicit conversations about costs and payments only happen in the most general of terms at the time of service because a patient asks a question of reception staff – and that the full details are only known once a bill has been generated and sent to the patient. The team at this primary care office is professional, courteous, kind, and good at what they do. I want to make sure they are compensated appropriately for their time, skill, and efforts on my behalf as I focus on my preventative healthcare goals with them. MMHS must do better for both sides of this equation if they are going to be the primary healthcare system for our region.
