More than a decade ago I was referred to Dr. Imam by my then family physician, Dr. John Beane, to address my Asthma problem. I have been in her good care since then. Over these years I have been impressed by her obvious close attention to my health and well-being. She is the one of my many health care providers that clearly spends more time questioning me, explaining to me, and responding to my questions and health concerns. To her great credit, she stands out from all others in her clear and serious professional concern and attention to my health complications. WOULD THAT ALL PHYSICIANS DEMONSTRATED DR. IMAM’S SERIOUS ATTENTION TO HIS OR HER CLIENTS. SHE IS WORTHY OF EMULATION!

They briefly mentioned a nasal spray but did not tell me it was prescribed or what it was for. I only found out when the pharmacy app notified me of a prescription ready for pick up. When I called about this the nurse did not verify information or what had been prescribed and gave me advice that could have been harmful to my child had I followed it. The doctor flat out told us she didn’t know why my child was having the reaction she was having. The nurse seemed agitated and inferred that the reaction could just be in my child’s head. She also told my child to let her know when she needed a break during the skin test and when she asked for the break the nurse told her she needed to just breathe through it and get it done fast or it would take her(the nurse) longer. The nurse also seemed very annoyed and raised her voice when answering my questions about whether we should continue to avoid the foods causing the reactions. Her response made it seem like she thought I was going to do my own allergy challenge at home and even alluded to another patient who had in fact done so. I felt like the doctor and nurse didn’t listen to us and also weren’t being clear. There was a lot of miscommunication and contradiction with the staff and the appointment was stressful and we may go to another allergist now.

I wasn’t told to stay off of one of my medications for two weeks prior to coming in, so now I have to have another appointment scheduled after spending over an hour just waiting for them to come in and tell me this. I couldn’t do the test that was the reason for the appointment.
