My husband and I are happy to have Dr. Marcus Nichols as our primary physician. He is a highly skilled professional, extremely knowledgeable, a caring and compassionate person. Dr. Nichols analyzes each and every health issue thoroughly, gets to the root of the problem, and finds the best treatment option. He is a good manager as he runs his office in a very efficient way. We have a complete trust in our doctor!

I was not acknowledged by the receptionist at all. After being there for 10 minutes I went to the window and all she said was “yes”. She didn’t have a name badge on. She wasn’t wearing a mask and she was eating and drinking at her desk. She never explained what she needed from me or what she was doing, she just kept typing. I asked twice “are you done with me?”. The first time she said I need to take your temp and give you a med list. She did finally take my temp after a couple of minutes. The nurse came to get me and I was still waiting on the registration clerk so I asked again, are you done with me. The nurse had to wait for her to print my med list, which I understand should have been done when I first got there so I had time to review them for accuracy (something new I’ve never done at this office before). When I returned to schedule my f/u appointment, she again did not acknowledge me, she just looked at me. I held up 4 fingers and said 4 weeks. After a couple of minutes she said does 0X00 time work? I had to ask which date. Then she asked if I needed a card with the appointment and I said yes. It took her quite a long time so I eventually said can you just write it on a post it note? She continued to try to print something (she said she was having trouble with the printer). When it finally did print, it was something I have never received from this office before, but I’m pretty sure I am supposed to get with every visit and that’s a summary of the visit. It didn’t even have the next appointment on it. The Reg clerk never once smiled. She did have a mask on when I came back out, but it wasn’t even covering her nose and only partially her mouth. I really like Melissa the nurse. She’s professional and pleasant and does her job well. The reg clerk seems disgruntled and unhappy and needs some education on AIDET and proper infection control practices and wearing her name badge.

The mask mandate needs to be lifted because masks have had little affect and it’s been a year and half on straighten the curve.

I waited over an hour to be seen. That time frame needs to be improved.

The experience art the provider’s office was excellence. My lab experience was horrible. I asked for all labs to be drawn the same day. They said they couldn’t without a reasonable explanation and said I had to come back in for weeks for the other labs to be drawn. As soon as I got back to work, the provider’s office called & apologized for the lab because they were all supposed to have been drawn the same day just as I had asked the lab. I live an hour away & quill have to take another half day of work to do what should have been done the first time. The lab appeared to be very uninformed & incompetent. Those was not the first time the MMH lab has messed something up for my family.

I felt that Dr Nichols was very hurried and did not spend much time in the room. I also feel chastised if you have issues to discuss during a wellness appt. Seems like you can only show up if you are 100% well because of time allotment. Many times I just save up minor things to run by him when I know I have a wellness appt coming up. I think more time should be given to wellness appts. to discuss issues instead of checking boxes.

Everybody in the office was kind, nice, and office is very clean. Everybody was courteous. And the service was great. So, I definitely wanted to thank you. I would definitely anybody that I know there.

Office staff helpful. Dr. knows med history and checks out concerns. Know they are busy, but would sometimes like a quicker response with testing. I may just be impatient.

I start seeing Marcus Nichols last year. I feel like he’s in the best provider that I’ve had in a long time. I’m 42 years old and I’m very happy with this service. I tell all my friends most of the doctors that are in Marietta Memorial Health System don’t have time they’re too over booked and they’re not personable. That’s all.

Dr. Nichols, and his staff, were extremely helpful, kind, courteous and knowledgeable about everything that was discussed with them. I appreciate that … I appreciate the time that they spent with me and the thoroughness of him going through my medical history, and explanations of the tests and the rationale behind any proposed treatment. Thank you so much.

I have been very satisfied with my visit with Dr. Nichols. And I have no complaints at all.

The reason my provider did not know exactly what my health history was was because of the interruption caused by the computer outage at Marietta Memorial Hospital. I had Tests at Camden Clark that did not show up on my records because of the interruption. It was not his fault.

I really like Dr. Nichols. He asks right questions, and listens to what I have to say.

On Jul 12, 2021 Anonymous said:
Yeah, Dr. Nichols listens to you and he does good, brought my blood pressure down, but I feel that he sometimes wants you to come back if he gives you like medication for a leg cramps, he wants you to come back in a month and that costs me a bunch of money. I could call him and tell him if it’s working or not. So, I know if I need to go back again and get more, I might have to see him, but I don’t think it needs to be scheduled. So, that’s it. Other than that, he’s pretty cool. Thanks.

Just that everything i tried to tell the dr he wouldn’t listen to what I was trying to say for the most part I really needed his help and he basically blew me off

I have no particular problem with the appointment itself. However, when I returned home, I received a call from an individual who said they had been provided my critical information, including my phone number and wanted to know if I needed to purchase items from him. This I find totally unacceptable, if not illegal to pass on my phone number and my medical issues to a third party. I would think is the illegal, if not immoral and if that happens again, I will find a new provider.

I am very pleased with Dr, Nichols, but I haven’t been real pleased with the response from his office. Sometimes, for example, I had blood work yesterday and he said, I’d probably hear from them today and it’s 7:18. The following day and no one called me. He also asked me when I was there. Yesterday of the nurses told me to get blood work before I came in, and she didn’t do that. There’s been other examples, wherever I just don’t feel like the office has been real responsive to do any requests we have and but as I said, I really like Dr. Nichols. I just think there could be a little more promptness to the office getting back with us something. Thank you.

I had to wait far too long to see the doctor even though there was only one patient ahead of me — over 1/2 hour.

On May 17, 2021 Anonymous said:
Dr. Nichols patiently listened to my concerns and addressed them each individually. He made sure I understood the plan for management of my symptoms. He made me feel important and validated my concerns.

We discussed what I considered to be a very misleading and potentially harmful piece of data in my report provided when discharged from the hospital on 2/7. He informed me that he had seen a mistake of this nature once before in the past 12 months. We discussed ways to correct the records and he gave me two names/numbers to call in service excellence. Service excellence gave me a number to call in direct copy services. That department has not been reached yet. So far, no one seems willing to own the task of getting to the bottom of the error.

Yes, I was treated very well, Dr. Nichols, totally understands everything that I’m going through. He takes the time to sit and talk to me and understand everything that I’m feeling and I have the utmost respect for him and his staff.

Cash pay billing (no insurance) is still cumbersome. Paying once and not receiving another bill would be very nice.

Never going back. Got no help whatsoever. Provider was very rude. Wanted to talk more about an issue that wasn’t even related to the reason I was there for. I felt very uncomfortable. By far the worst provider I have ever been to and I left the office more helpless than when I came in.

On Jan 22, 2021 Anonymous said:
1. Exceptionally well run office; 2)Dr. Nichols top notch MD, understands job as a Primary Provider, came fully prepared for my visit, 3) great open back and forth discussion. 4)all downstream elements (lab work, new tests scheduled, follow-up scheduled. Should be the benchmark for the profession.
