I saw the PA who didn’t make eye contact. He talked to his monitor, seemed impatient, gave short curt answers, contradicted what my primary care doctor told me. He was dismissive in attitude. He seemed to have come to his decisions before he met me. The paper work sent home with me about elevated BMI was not helpful. It does not take family genetics, injuries, or anything else. It is as a slur against women of a certain ancestry and size. It made assumptions that aren’t true that led to me feeling worse. The automatic assumption that a woman hasn’t tried to diet is erroneous. Females develop bad body images and end up trying to diet before they are out of elementary school. There could be a medical reason behind plumpness. If it were a man, the issue would have been solved. I am to be scheduled for a EMG and possible injections to help with a pinched nerve. I have NO CONFIDENCE in Chad Showen, the P.A.

I saw the physicians assistant not the physician. He sat there didn’t even look at me, kept saying I only had an inflamed disc when I have moderate spinal stenosis with degenerative disc. Asked only a few questions about what chiropractor and muscle relaxers I had tried and when I said none he sighed like he was irritated. Said yep you need the shots and started to walk out I asked if the shots were necessary he acted like I was being annoying simply said yes and that after one to two shots my degeneration and stenosis will heal themselves then walked out. I asked the nurse who brought my papers in so I could leave “I don’t understand how shoving a needle in a spine that is basically falling apart is going to help but will this actually cure stenosis?” She sighed annoyed said we don’t have to do the shots and walked away.
