What is a resident?
A resident is a fully licensed physician who has completed medical school and is now undergoing advanced training in a chosen specialty—in this case, family medicine. Our residents are training to become experts in caring for individuals and families across every stage of life. They complete a three-year residency under the close supervision of experienced, board-certified teaching physicians.
What to expect as a patient?
When you visit our Family Resident Clinic, you will be seen by a resident who will take time to understand your health needs and goals. Every visit is reviewed and supervised by a teaching provider to ensure the highest level of care. During the early stages of residency, your appointment may include both the resident and their supervising provider.
Patients at our clinic benefit from:
- Comprehensive primary care for all ages
- A collaborative, team-based model focused on education and quality
- Convenient location on the Belpre Medical Campus
- Acceptance of most insurance plans
