Keep a written log of seizure frequency and medication doses to share with the doctor.
Self-care
See a doctor immediately if:
- Seizure symptoms last more than five minutes
- Second seizure starts right after first ends
- Injured during seizure
- High fever
- Pregnant or have diabetes
When to seek immediate medical care
Make an appointment to see a doctor if:
- First-time seizure
- Increased seizure frequency
- Bothersome medication side effects
