Memorial Health System Lifts Visitor and Masking Restrictions for all Memorial Health System Locations
After experiencing a decrease in patients with respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19, RSV, and influenza, Memorial Health System has lifted all visitor and masking restrictions for the health system’s locations. This means the prior guidelines are no longer in effect:
- Two visitors per patient
- Visitors must be 18 years of age or older and show no signs of illness
- Masking
- Additional restrictions applied to specialized units and specific illnesses
Lifting visitor restrictions is a positive sign that the number of cases related to highly contagious illnesses coming into the health system has decreased. The safety of patients remains the health system’s priority at all times, which is why providers, care teams, and administration continue to evaluate the number, and type, of cases that come into the locations.
Patients are still encouraged to utilize the MemorialCareNow (telehealth) application when appropriate. MemorialCareNow is free for all Memorial Health System primary care patients and offers the flexibility for patients to be seen whenever, and wherever needed. MemorialCareNow can be downloaded through Google Play or the Apple App Store.
Life-threatening emergencies and those that pose a risk of disability, such as symptoms of a heart attack or stroke; injuries sustained in a vehicle crash, and lacerations that cause substantial bleeding should be treated in an emergency department. Memorial Health System currently has four emergency departments located at Selby General Hospital and Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, Ohio; Belpre Medical Campus and the Pediatric Emergency Department in Belpre, Ohio; and Sistersville General Hospital in Sistersville, West Virginia. Come May 30th, the health system will open their fifth emergency department on the newly constructed Athens Medical Campus.
