What is a Radiation Oncologist? 

As a radiation oncologist, Dr. Vasan uses ionizing radiation in the treatment of cancer. Radiation can be given either alone or in combination with surgery and/or chemotherapy. It may also be used to relieve symptoms in patients with certain cancers.

Education and Experience 

Dr. Vasan received post graduate training at the National Cancer Institute and the University of
Louisville in clinical oncology and neurology. He is also board certified in radiation oncology. Dr. Vasan and the radiation oncology team proudly provides the latest cancer care treatments in our region. The advanced technology used at the Cancer Center includes radiation systems found only
hours away. One of which is the CyberKnife® robotic radiation delivery system—one of only four
in Ohio.
