FARAPULSE™

FARAPULSE Pulsed Field Ablation is a minimally invasive treatment for atrial fibrillation (AFib), a condition where the heart beats in a fast or irregular way. During the procedure, a flexible, balloon-like tool is guided into the heart through a small tube. Once in place, FARAPULSE™ delivers pulsed electrical energy to the areas of the heart that are causing the irregular rhythm. This energy gently disrupts the abnormal signals—without using heat or freezing—so the heart can return to a normal, steady beat.

FARAPULSE™ is a precise and innovative option for certain patients with AFib. Like all medical procedures, it comes with risks and may not be right for everyone. Talk to your provider to see if this treatment is right for you.

FARAPULSE™ vs. Traditional Methods

Traditional AFib treatments often use thermal ablation—extreme heat or cold—to create scar tissue and block abnormal electrical signals. While effective, this method can sometimes affect nearby healthy tissue.

FARAPULSE™ Pulsed Field Ablation uses quick, controlled bursts of electrical energy to precisely target the heart tissue causing the irregular rhythm. Because it avoids heat and freezing, it helps protect surrounding structures and reduces the risk of complications.

Clinical results

73% of patients remained free from irregular heart rhythms and no longer needed heart rhythm medications after one year

8 out of 10 people experienced no return of AFib symptoms within a year of their procedure

Less than a 2.1% complication rate—showing FARAPULSE is both safe and effective

FARAPULSE™ May Be Right For You If You Experience

If you’re living with symptoms of atrial fibrillation or haven’t found relief with medication, you may be a candidate for FARAPULSE. Talk with your provider if any of the following apply to you:

  • A racing, fluttering, or pounding heartbeat
  • Shortness of breath, especially during activity
  • Fatigue or feeling tired all the time
  • Dizziness or feeling lightheaded
  • Chest discomfort or palpitations
  • Trouble exercising or keeping up with normal activities

Benefits of FARAPULSE™

FARAPULSE™ is a next-generation option for treating atrial fibrillation. It offers unique advantages over traditional ablation methods.

  • No heat or freezing
Uses pulsed electric fields instead of thermal energy to treat heart tissue
  • Targeted treatment
Designed to affect only the areas causing AFib, helping protect surrounding healthy tissue
  • Minimally invasive
Performed through a thin, flexible catheter without the need for open surgery
  • Shorter recovery time
Many patients return to normal activities quickly
  • Lower risk of complications
May reduce the risk of damage to nearby structures like the esophagus or nerves
  • Improved quality of life
Helps restore a normal heartbeat, so you can feel better and stay active
